The new monster EP from Alex Smoke. Following his debut release on the legendary R&S record label. This EP is purely focused on the dancefloor, and you can tell that from the get go. With a straightforward eerie 4/4 kicker in the shape of "Green Man", from the eerie hidden vocals of a man to the muted flute playing in the back ground, this is definitely a tension setter. One for a big build up.
"LSD"...need we say more?...We're going to anyway. The heavy drums cluttered between toms the resinate from one ear drum to the other make a perfect setting for the chattering synth line (we do not condone listening to this while taking acid, but if you do, film it and send it to us). "Tommy Knockers" you definitely won't have any Tommy Knockers after listening to this, your bollocks will be swinging backwards and forth with so much perpetual motion you won't know weather to laugh or cry.
The last but certainly not least track "Oni" sounds like the birth child of Surgeon and a Sega Mega Drive. A straight techno chugger that could fit perfectly into the sound track of "Streets of Rage". Constantly building up through out, Smoke has taken a more progressive approach to the last track, and it certainly doesn't disappoint.
